Workshop and First Annual Meet: 4th March, 2003
The INDEST Consortium Launch Workshop and the First Annual Meeting was held on March 4, 2003 at the Seminar Hall, IIT Delhi. 102 participants including 77 participants from 38 member institutions and 20 representatives of publishers, attended the workshop.

New Resources for INDEST Members
Considering very high subscription cost for Science Direct and its low usage in most NITs / RECs during two months trial period, it was decided not to subscribe Science Direct for NITs, NERIST, SLIET and ISM. In lieu of Science Direct, all 20 institutions mentioned above will get access to following electronic resources from May 2003 onwards:
Expansion of INDEST Consortium with Financial Support from AICTE
The INDEST Consortium is being expanded to include additional 60 members with financial support from the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The AICTE is in the process of identifying 60 Government engineering colleges or technical insititutions that offer programmes at postgraduate level. These institutions are being given access to a number of electronic resources including IEL Online Library, ASCE Journals, ASME Journals and Applied Science and Technology Plus (ASTP).
